Beth A. Cohen, PhD is an organizational and clinical psychologist with extensive experience in organizational and individual health and well-being. Her expertise includes conducting organizational needs assessments, designing interventions and program development. Dr. Cohen provides management and staff trainings, consultations, critical conversations and coaching in both the private and public sectors. She works extensively with all levels of government including senior administration and elected/appointed officials.
Dr. Cohen is the founder and administrator of the Organizational Mind Group, PC. She is a national speaker, published author and professional threat assessor. Dr. Cohen has expertise in primary and secondary trauma and violence prevention. She is also a certified mindfulness meditation instructor with post-graduate education in organizational neuroscience.
Dr. Cohen has extensive background in human resources, occupational health, emergency response and risk management. She serves as an educator, trainer and consultant for the UC Davis Human Services Program. Dr. Cohen is the former director of the UC Davis faculty & staff counseling and consultation center. She also designed and operationalized the UC Davis Staff and Faculty Health & Well-Being Program as well as an internal employees assistance program for UC Santa Barbara. Dr. Cohen has developed and implemented both pre and post doctoral internship programs.
Dr. Cohen works with organizations across the nation. She has partnered with the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA) on a national initiative to address health and well-being in the health and human services workforce. She also designs and implements post-trauma responses after traumatic events including global disasters, child deaths, mass murder and terrorism.
Dr. Cohen's award winning book, Workaches: The Neuroscience Guide to Surviving and Thriving at Work, addresses individual and organizational impacts of stress and trauma amongst varied other topics related to work. Deborah Winograd, PhD earned her Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree in Psychobiology with Departmental Honors from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and earned her doctorate (PhD) degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern California (USC). She has a specialized focus in interpersonal neurobiology, clinical existentialism and cognitive science.
Dr. Winograd has practiced as a psychologist and organizational consultant since 1990. She served as clinical director of Pacific Coast Behavioral Health, a Psychological Corporation (PCBH) in Southern California from 1992 through 2006. She served as consultant to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Social Security Administration, Disability Department, Board of Behavioral Sciences and Board of Psychology. Dr. Winograd is a field tester for new texts and continuing education examinations for the American Psychological Association (APA).
Dr. Winograd is a curricula writer on topics including neuroscience, trauma and individual/organizational behavior. She founded The Mind Press publishing house for psychological, organizational and social neuroscience books. She additionally develops and designs programs on varied topics for educational presentations across the nation. She is also a curricula writer for the Center for Human Services at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Winograd is the author of the Psychosocial Impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic online program and numerous other courses. She is currently working on her second book which explores the influence of psychosocial forces, such as shame, on our lives. Dr. Winograd is the clinical director of the Organizational Mind Group, PC. She also maintains a private practice offering clinical, supervisory and coaching services. Dr. Winograd is a mixed media artist bringing psychological concepts to canvas and sculpture.
